One analogy (mine) of where we are at re trump, impeachment, the way forward, choices
The country has a severe case of cancer - there is a main tumor, but there are dangerous cells in the margins of the tumor, and additional cancer cells spread throughout the body.
The impeachment was the diagnosis that something had to be done - the patient was going to die.
Jan 20 - inauguration day - is the main surgery - the tumor will be removed. But there are decisions - should the margins be checked and more surgery done? Should there be added chemo to kill other cancer cells not at the tumor site? Choices...choices.
If testing and revealing what is at the margins and removing the bad stuff - that's the election truthers sitting in congress, spouting the calls for unity while they claim that the election was stolen. They have to go for the patient to survive. I would argue that right wing talk and hate ratio and TV are additional malignant cells sitting at the margins. That is some difficult surgery.
But...and finally....all of those cells which were shed by the tumor that are all over the body. The chemo to deal with them would be the election truthers coming clean - but additional steps - chemo, treatments - are needed to get those dangerous cells. They are the cult.
Thinking of cancer analogy, Jan 20 is the removal of the main tumor. But I suspect most of us know what happens if the margins are not checked and there is further surgery, followed by radiation and/or chemo to find the cells that spread outward.
And THAT is why Rs calling for unity while they are still screaming stolen election is total fucking bullshit.
There may be other equally good or better analogies - but while I was out filling my bird feeder, the cancer version came to mind.

Oh yes - and James Comey's bullshit about pardoning trump makes me glad he is not a doctor...he simply doesn't get it at all.
