I don't know how but it must happen or this crap will never end.
many good people are to gullible and get sucked into the crazy conspiracies and fox knows exactly what its doing, I have often wondered if thats why it was named "fox".
It has to stop.

(63,228 posts)Trump signs and flags all over the yard, and numerous I dont call 911 signs throughout. Inside the house multiple firearms visible, though visibly unloaded.
The couple were watching Newsmax and screaming at Joe Biden on the screen. Like, incoherent with rage over every syllable out of Bidens mouth.
But when they had to speak with me, they were the friendliest people you could hope to meet. Then Biden reappeared onscreen and they went nuts again.
That hard propaganda really does something to peoples brains.

They have been consumed by the monstrous fox news and when I used to talk to them I would tell them that they should not be watching fox and they would say we don't watch fox but if I would stop by for coffee or something unannounced I would go in they would be glued to fox on t.v
It finally just totally consumed them and I cut ties with them all.
Fox is destroying many families good people and this country.

So many viewers eagerly poisoning themselves.

(17,865 posts)accomplished more in shutting down their lies than any other mechanism. Also Seth Rich's family.
On the other hand the First Amendment has done us in good stead.
One proposal I would have would be having the three main cable news networks subject to adversarial questioning as part of their shows.
For opinion shows:
Two nights a week in a 10 minute block, the host/hosts or their designates defend statements and opinions made in the proceeding shows. Also defend why particular topics and stories are covered but not others.
For news shows:
Same deal but quiz those individuals that make editorial decisions on what stories are covered. Also challenge any facts that are unproven or have been disproven.
This can't be government mandated, but I would like to see an agreement with the three networks.
Ideally not one political position should be represented on the various networks. Also is there any chance a better process for a debate style show like Crossfire work?
I went back and looked at clips of Rachel Maddow. She stayed with the term protestors even though in some of the protests during the summer a great deal of property damaged occurred. I don't really know the details, but shouldn't she be pushed in the use of her language. Of course all the Fox opinion people (the six - 3 from the morning and 3 from the night are universally bad in presenting one position even to suppressing facts and outright lying).

Nationwide, vocal, in your face, boycott.

Better yet, quit traditional television entirely.
That's what my wife and I did, more than a decade ago.
Our television plays DVDs and Netflix. We can 'cast other content to it from our cellphones and computers, which is how we watched the Democratic Convention this year, but mostly we don't.
We have an inexpensive unlimited DSL internet connection and an $8.99 a month Netflix subscription. We never see commercials.
Traditional television made Trump, and that includes television news and opinion sources commonly regarded as acceptable here on DU. I will never forgive the television news media for that.
