5. NBC Nightly News had HHS Secretary Azar on

They showed excerpts of Azar's conversation with Lester Holt. Azar basically papered over any mistakes, errors, or blunders on the part of the administration. Holt asked about 20 million vaccines administered by the end of 2020 promise. Azar deflected, refused to say that Trump had overpromised or anything of the kind, and put it on the drug manufacturers. Holt asked about the governors who were suddenly getting no more vaccines. Azar smirked and said in essence that if the governors (Kate Brown of Oregon was pictured) hadn't been listening to what they were told, it wasn't his fault.

It was a virtuoso performance in smarm. Azar denied that the administration had done or said anything wrong, it was all the drug companies' fault when it wasn't the governors' fault. And if people were suffering, not his problem. He needs a swift kick in the nads.
