Breaking NYT: Prosecutors in Georgia appear increasingly likely to open a criminal investigation of Trump over his attempts to overturn the results of the state's 2020 election, an inquiry into offenses that would be beyond his federal pardon power.

(38 posts)6. This is why impeachment must move forward
As soon as we let up, cases like this will become unpopular and he will get away with his crimes again. We can heal whenever he is held accountable for his actions.

He will slink out of the White House in disgrace, too embarassed to even show his face at the inauguration, and he will fade into obscurity after being stripped of all wealth, and then convicted of a myriad of crimes.
Even so, spending the rest of his life in prison will not be enough to assuage the grief, pain, and trauma he has caused for so many people.
