I cut the cord with cable and satellite several years ago and use Roku for streaming tv. A week or so ago I signed up with Sling in order to get MSNBC live in real time. During commercial breaks all throughout the day and night is this Qunol with Turmeric supplement product which I haven't ever heard or seen before and I'm not familiar with the product or brand.
Every time I hear it on background I'm startled feeling like I'm hearing a Qanon commercial. I know that Qanon has been around and creeping up in mainstream since 2016. So wondering if this brand name is relatively new, and perhaps monetizing a familiar sounding term connected to that audience or has this brand name/company been around for several years before qanon ever came to be known or exist?

(65,076 posts)The Q is from CoQ10.
It's a coenzyme named ubiquinone, hence the "Co". Because it can exist in equilibrium in three different oxidation state, it's a powerful antioxidant, and works cooperatively with lipase to metabolize fats.
There are many brands on the market.
It's considered safe & even Mayo recommends folks over 50 take it if they a list of varying maladies.

(7,282 posts)there's a ton of commercials of brands and services I haven't heard of before, it's sort of feels like i've been sequestered from the commercial world. But to hear the words "Qunol is the brand to trust" said in a commercial is somewhat startling. In fact the first time I heard this commercial I thought they had said Qanon.
just weird, thank you.
