The separated Central American children are still separated

What should be done for them?

What can be done for them?

Their parents know who they are but the Trumpeople have had no success in locating the parents - assuming they actually tried.

I have every confidence the Biden administration will make a serious effort to effect their reunions with their parents. I have every confidence there will be many reportable successes. But I also think some number of these kids will never find their parents for who-knows-what reasons.

Our nation's society owes a LOT to these kids and their parents.

For those who will never see their parents again, what should we do? It seems to me that starts with nothing less than federally funded trust funds to see them through to adulthood (at least), including college tuition. Sadly, we have no choice but to treat them as orphans, but with federal monitoring to ensure their welfare AND happiness, to include stability in safe and loving adoptive homes.

For the kids who do get reunited, we owe them, too. Maybe similar trust funds. Certainly SOME compensation.

And then there is the matter that brought them here in the first place - sanctuary. That needs to be settled. Green cards? Citizenship? Some special class?

Honestly, I'm not good at suggesting solutions to this problem, but I DO know we all bear the burden to ensure these kids live the best lives they can.
