What if, instead of the Biden administration sending out $1400 to everyone eligible

they send out $1300 to everyone eligible plus a $100 supply of quality face masks? Maybe with a little American flag symbol on each mask? Or include the face masks regardless of how much each check is?

Turn to them and say 'you have really bad breath'.

I guarantee they will be thinking about it all week.

7. Read the scrapped USPS announcement to send 5 masks to every American household (April 2020)

The United States Postal Service had planned to send 650 million masks to Americans during the early part of the pandemic. The document comes from watchdog group American Oversight, that obtained thousands of internal USPS documents through the Freedom of Information Act.

This announcement, which includes quotation from top USPS officials and other specifics, never was sent.

I think that would have made a huge impact if it had been implemented in April 2020, but at this point there isn't a shortage of masks preventing people from wearing them – many people are choosing not to wear them. Sending masks to people that don't want them is a waste of resources.

They seemed to be easily swayed so we'll wait until PEJB & VPEKH are sworn in and let them take the credit.

What kind of impact is the disposable masks making on the local landfills? I haven't seen one article as of yet.

10. A nudge is good. The government could offer subsidized masks for anyone to order.

Free (or very inexpensive) masks for those that request them. I just don't think sending them to large numbers of people that will probably throw them away is beneficial.

Sadly, Americans generate so much trash in our consumer driven society that I doubt masks would make a noticeable difference. I think most people have cloth masks that can be washed and reused – at least 90% of the people I see are wearing cloth masks. That's what I have.
