Artworks and other valuables are loaned to the whitehouse and then they are returned at the end of each occupant. President Biden (or staff) will choose his own artwork loans.

for its protection doesn't seem normal. I sorta wonder if the bust was discreetly recovered without anyone yelling "stop thief!"
Gotta admit I'd really like to take that home as a memento.
