Traditionally, the new president as a courtesy provides the outgoing president with a helicopter ride to Andrews and then an airplane to wherever he wants to go. Trump refused that because he didn't want to leave Washington as an ex-president, and he didn't want to ask Biden for use of an aircraft. He also wanted to arrive in Florida on Air Force One. By forcing people to do it his way, he may have set himself up for the humiliation of returning to Washington against his will.

Please, oh please, will someone arrange for Biden to order the aircraft to return to Andrews at noon? I'd buy that for a dollar! (a "Blade Runner" reference, nonetheless!)
