WH issues its 1776 report which is supposed to help “restore understanding” of American greatness. And not two weeks after Jan 6 there is this passage that says current division in the US calls to mind the disagreements in the “Civil War.”

Some of them were shouting it as they ransacked the capital.

They don't get it that 250 years ago, the lawmakers wouldn't even use swear words against each other, let alone lie or threaten violence. Some of them completely loathed each other (Adams and Jefferson) but they always used polite affirmations that were expected of the day.

This is the idiot's attempt at keeping them in his camp, and for some, it's enough.
