I wonder when Republicans were talking about Making America Great Again were they thinking of making the U.S. among the top 10 in deaths due to a pandemic on a per capita basis:

I don't know much about Belgium. So small that it has a very dense population, perhaps?

Italy's government is crappy, for sure, but they actually have a pretty decent public health system, and they were one of the worst hit early on, so I'd have hoped they'd have learned from that.

In the UK, you've got Boris Johnson, sometimes called a British Trump, but he strikes me more as Dubya stupid, not Trump stupid.

4. You Are Right. All of the Countries Have More Population Density Than the US

Indeed, most of the countries in the top 10 have population densities that are several times more than the U.S., though just because a country has a dense population does not mean that it is going to suffer an out of control spread like the U.S. The issue could be that in cities or countries like Hong Kong, which has a population density of 17,588, the population has learned to take pandemics seriously in terms of wearing masks and contact tracing.

Still, it is amazing how the poorly the US is doing despite its low population density.
