10. I've been haunted with the designated survivor scenario. I have to admit.

All the troops in the world can't protect from a determined and well planned attack from something like a missile or drone. Much as we've (Secret Service, military, or law enforcement, I mean) have tried to secure the scene, I remain terrified of some rogue nation or rogue operator using long distance device to injure somebody. That attack on the Capitol was somewhat organized by people s of yet unidentified. THAT realization scares hell outta me. Similarly, there has been discussion in the media about foreign involvement and funding for the traitors.

I'll feel a LOT better once the swearing in is finished and the orange anus is out of DC.

Because otherwise the designated survivor picked by the outgoing Obama administration would have been the highest in the line of succession who was not at the inauguration. But Hatch didn't announce it in advance, and in fact had suggested his intent to attend the inauguration. The secrecy was, they said, for security reasons. It's possible that something similar will happen with Nancy Pelosi.

I know I'd feel safer, but overall I'll trust Nancy and Joe and the experts who have earned their trust.
