(18,402 posts)in the Darkness to Light memorial for those who died in the COVID-19 pandemic?
I dont know that its being promoted everywhere, but in my city (Chicago) residents and businesses are being asked to turn out their lights and all electronics after the conclusion of the Biden/Harris memorial event in D.C. (here, at 6 pm Central). During the ten minutes of darkness, youre invited to light a candle and go outside, if possible. And then, at the end of the ten minute memorial, to turn the lights back on: a symbolic message of Returning to the Light.
I think it is a nice gesture of remembrance and a symbol of the light we hope lies ahead. Check your own area to see if its happening there.

(6,925 posts)Everything Biden has done so far theyve done with class. Despite a military lockdown, theyve brightened up the place visible for miles around.
Artistic as well as symbolic. Well done, Joe and Jill and Ron Klain.
