The Sadness of the Joy

Washington is a vibrant city. The streets are always populated. The "famous" Washington drivers. Food trucks. K Street lawyers and panhandlers standing together on corners waiting for the crosswalk lights to change.

The former President of the United States incited an attempted coup d'etat that thankfully failed. In so doing, he robbed his successor of a normal transition. He robbed better than half the nation of the happiness that comes with a new President. He closed an entire city. He closed the seat of our national government.

He did that to us.

I titled this "Sadness and Joy".

Writing this, the feeling is anger.

Deep breath, Stinky. Deep breath.

It SHOULD have been much better, but it is what it is, and I am OK with it.

Here’s to Joe Biden being the most liberal President in American history, and, from what I have seen so far, he might be.
