There were "leaders" in the mob...

...and there were followers.

They are all guilty but the "leaders" seemed to be more bent on violence and destruction. You could hear them on the videos, shouting out orders to the others.

These were the Proudboys, the QAnon, and the 3Percenters. These included ex-military and ex-cops.

In my opinion, many of the MAGA crowd were followers. That doesn't make them innocent.

But, I do believe we should make that distinction.

Trump had a special appeal to the dregs of society. He liked the "tough" guys, as he once stated. He identified with those with criminal minds. Just look at all his friends he pardoned.

So, he finally got the crowd that he had cultivated for four years.

Now he disowns them.

MAGA has been played, but they have been played because of their underlying naivete and racism.

Primarily because trDumpie was told if he did not swiftly repudiate the mob actions to ransack the Capitol he might well open himself to very serious legal repercussions of federal felony charges of conspiracy and criminality.
