Women across the country are pledging to wear pearls on Inauguration Day to support the country’s first female Vice President-elect.
"Sandra Broome-Edwards, 67, has worn pearls every day since early January.
“I’ve been sitting at home watching ‘Good Morning America’ with my pearls on,” she said. “It’s my way of acknowledging the momentous occasion that is coming.”

Ms. Broome-Edwards is one of over 430,000 women who are members of a Facebook group called “Wear Pearls on Jan 20 2021.” The idea is to honor Kamala Harris, the country’s first female Vice President-elect, who wore her signature pearls when she graduated Howard University, was sworn into Congress, grilled Brett Kavanaugh, debated Vice President Mike Pence, as she received her Covid-19 vaccine and, it’s likely, again when she is sworn on Wednesday."

I will wear my pearls tomorrow in honor of Madam Vice President Kamala Harris. If i had chucks i'd wear them too

Pearls are also away of remembering RBG.

I don't know if I will have the energy to dig around for my pearl strands, but I think that I can lay my hands on my pearl studs easily enough. I very much want to honor this occasion.

24. I asked for and got a real Pearl necklace for Christmas.

I had some costume jewelry pearls but never the “real” ones. I have not had an occasion to wear them yet, thanks to Covid curtailing my activities that might require pearls. (Symphony)

So tomorrow is a fitting day to get those puppies out and break them in. It is said that Pearls should be worn to develop a patina. So I’m tickled to wear them first for this special occasion! I might even shower and wear real clothes. 😜

Is that they have a subtle, luminous beauty and are suitable for daywear. A diamond wreath just wouldn't do before 6 PM, you know what I mean.

Harris is not unlike a pearl. Classic, understated, in style all day any day of the year and any year of this still sort of new century. She glows with grace and intelligence.

I've always loved pearls and in my travels i've purchased freshwater (my favorite) pieces from the Caribbean, Hawaii & Cayman islands. Anyhow, it's a fine happy day - i'm watching coverage of the idiot's final departure from JB Andrews and there's the split screen of the church where Biden is attending Mass (not sure if he's arrived yet), in preparation for the swearing in today.

Oy vey, hoping i won't be tied up in a meeting during the noon hours so i can watch the inauguration.
