A question about the 74 million that voted for Donald Trump?
How many voted for him out of loyalty to Donald Trump and how many voted for him out of loyalty to the Republican Party?
I do not believe the entire 74 million voted for Trump out of loyalty to him or what he stood for.
Republicans are strange creatures.
They tend to believe that "any" Republican is better than the liberal, socialist Democrat that might be running. That is ingrained within them.
It is my opinion that more than 50% of Republicans voted for Trump because he wasn't a Democrat. His base is not the entire Republican Party, contrary to what he may think?
My estimated guess would be that somewhere between 25-50% of Republicans are "true" Trump supporters. If the Republican Party was to lose those voters, they could very possibly make them up with registered "Independent" voters. It would not be the end of the world or the end of the Republican Party, in my opinion.
Trump, and his threats of starting his own Party, should not panic Republicans. They do not need him as much as he thinks they do.
