and I put on my fake pearls and just now applauded when President and Dr Biden came down the steps.

The past 4 years have made this day sweeter by orders of magnitude than any inauguration - Obama's came close, but today I cannot contain my joy and relief.

I don't believe he will remain there. Maybe he will.
He is Capitol Police Officer Private 1st Class.

I believe he was given this honor for his "Heroism under duress" during the Capitol siege on Jan. 6th.

He has been recommended to receive the Congressional Gold Medal for his Heroism.

All well deserved honors.

Didn't seek out the spotlight even though he clearly deserves it, and probably looks at what he did as him simply doing his job. Much respect.

Seeing him escort her, honoring him, knowing his heroism and instinct saved countless lives, and preserved our democracy.
I got choked up, and through my tears I said "God bless you." And said a silent prayer of gratitude that he was there that day. Tearing up again as I write this.

When the right people are elevated for the right reasons. Mr. Goodman's quick thinking and actions undoubtedly saved lives on January 6th. He put himself at risk while doing it.

Btw, watching Kamala Harris and her husband walking down those steps was my first cry of the day. Overwhelming significance in that moment and many more throughout the day.

and congrats to Mr. Goodman. He lived up to his name!
