(14,920 posts)..."Biden has been steadily crafting the speech -- adding a thought here, inserting a line there -- since the day after he delivered a victory address in Wilmington, Delaware, aides say. But in those passing 72 days, Biden's burden has grown even heavier, with President Donald Trump's relentless falsehoods complicating the already-challenging task of unifying a divided nation.
Mike Donilon, a longtime adviser to Biden who will join him in the West Wing, is overseeing the speechwriting process along with Vinay Reddy, Biden's chief speechwriter. Jon Meacham, the historian and presidential biographer, is also helping shape the inaugural address, which will be delivered as the opening mark of perhaps the most challenging presidency since Franklin Roosevelt.
...
Biden aides have been reluctant to preview specifics of Biden's inaugural address. Ron Klain, his incoming chief of staff, told The Washington Post in a video interview last week that Biden "takes time every few days to sit down and think about it and write some thoughts and rewrite some thoughts."

So at least one Foxer was watching it.

(8,795 posts)Winning the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Olympics, the NCAA championship, all of em, the Stanley Cup, Womens and Mens World Cup, the city Bowling League, evening Bingo at the Senior Center, WW1, WW2, Dart Championship at the local pub, an augment with your older brother. It just felt damn good.
After 4 years of our flag hijacked by Trump cult flown with his shit rag, the confederate flag, the Dont Tread flag, even the Swastika, I finally felt proud of that flag again.
Felt like our soldiers planting it firming on that hill again.
Never let it fly with that treason Trump flag again.

I'll do my part as best as I can.
Let's see if there are some republican'ts who can muster up the courage to be Republicans.

(3,401 posts)It was a fantastic speech, and he addressed everyone. Mitch McConnel knew Biden was talking to him, the other republicans knew it too, the World heard him loud and clear, and I find that the anxiety we have been living with for that last four years will go away very soon.
Just the fact that we don't have to read or listen about what the buffoon said or tweeted will release a lot of that anxiety.
