Without Joe Manchin Republicans would control the Senate. Manchin is a pretty decent guy represemting a VERY red state. If he moved any further to the left he would be replaced by a far right reactionary. See, it's in places like West Virginia that I can support centrist Democrats.

Coal is dying, and rightfully so, so WV needs some help developing new sources of work and income for its people.

I'm all for it, frankly, but I'm kind of a half-socialist anyway.
