“Former president Donald Trump threw himself back into politics this weekend by publicly endorsing a devoted and divisive acolyte in Arizona who has embraced his false election conspiracy theories and entertained the creation of a new ‘MAGA Party,'” the Washington Post reports.

“In a recorded phone call, he offered his ‘complete and total endorsement’ for another term for Arizona state party chairwoman Kelli Ward, a lightning rod who has sparred with the state’s Republican governor, been condemned by the business community and overseen a recent flight in party registrations. She narrowly won reelection, by a margin of 51.5 percent to 48.5 percent, marking Trump’s first victory in a promised battle to maintain political relevance and influence after losing the 2020 election.”

Is this purely another grift, his ego getting the best of him where he believes he has a shot politically in the future, or some combination of the two where he thinks he has a shot, but he can do his usual skimming of money at the same time?

Whatever the case, it will ultimately fail, and he just might divide conservatives further.

15. I am mixed on this but, like, I don't have any influence on the issue, man.

A third party that runs against Republicans would be a great spoiler. But if they join in the final vote, they just become the obviously stupid and racist version of the Libertarians. Since the Libertarians pretty much go along with Republican, they are just crypto-fascists trying not to appear as stupid as pure Republican fascism.

A third party that siphons money from idiots so the Trumps can continue to tempt insane lawyers who think Trump will pay them is sweet.

A third party that will regularly go so far off the scale could allow us to find all the nut jobs that endanger the republic. It will be a perfect traitor indicator.

A third party that continues to try and find a platform and then poisons it, is golden.

The thing to fear though is if someone smart takes it over from Trump. Imagine how horrid it would be if someone like Hawley took it over.

I really don't see much of a downside to Trump forming another political party.

A new MAGAt Party would siphon off Republican voters, and attract the current Republican Party's most violent members. But, those people are already out there, and doing their thing in public, right now. And, now that they've already attempted a coup, their joining a new, more concentrated RWNJ party would allow the intelligence community to more easily focus on, and infiltrate, them.
