Agencies at the federal, state and local, are investigating the death of a person who was given the coronavirus vaccine "several hours" before their death, according to the Placer County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's office stressed in a Saturday afternoon Facebook post that any reports of a cause of death are premature because of the ongoing investigation.
In the post, the Sheriff's office said that the person tested positive for coronavirus in late December and died on Thursday.
The person's identity and ties to Placer County were not released."

(92,216 posts)in December, and the unknown health conditions of the person and other information are unknown
An autopsy will be done to try and determine exactly what happened
I sure wouldn't automatically blame it on the vaccine until we know more information

(92,216 posts)The only thing we know is that the person tested positive in November. Nothing else is known
Until the results of the autopsy are given, no conclusions should be drawn.
It should also be noted that millions have already been given the vaccine without any issues

(5,008 posts)approval. They are approved for emergency use. We dont know what kind of long term side effects it could have on some people. We dont know. YES..I will still get the vaccine because I have a few comorbidities. I think that I have better shot surviving this pandemic if I get vaccinated.

(14,918 posts)Testing the following day confirmed the diagnosis. I received my first Pfizer vaccination on December 30th and the second one on January 16. I don't know who told your Facebook friends to wait 3 months, but that is not the guidance I received at the major medical center/teaching hospital where I received my vaccinations. Specifically, only those relatively few post-covid patients who had been treated with monoclonal antibodies were advised to delay being vaccinated.

I think just as much of the right, as anti-vaxers on the left will use it against the vaccine

(14,764 posts)Sometimes, it's just coincidence when it happens in odd circumstances.
Until any information is known, just let it lay.
A string of coincidences is not a cause.

I hadn't heard any of this. I am getting the first shot today. Thanks for the article.
What was interesting is the 2nd dose side effects I have heard about it more common with younger than older people. My 83 yr old father was telling me his peers that have gotten it, only 2 felt the side effects of 2nd shot while I have read most every one experiences. So maybe I was hearing from middle age and younger (medical) people. Interesting

(33,956 posts)Caused by Covid, including a blood clot.
I have been fully vaccinated and know hundreds of people who have also been vaccinatedone as recently as a week after finishing Covid quarantine.
Of my unofficial group, there are about 2/3 who had no reaction to the first vaccine and 2/3 who had side effects from the second.
These side effects subsided after a couple of days but the truth of the matter is, as sad as it is, people die every day.
If the above person qualified for the vaccine, they were already older and/or had underlying conditions.
