5. Migrant caravans are real, and will get worse in the future

Central America is seeing their rainfall patterns shift dramatically due to climate change. These caravans are populated by poor farmers who can no longer make a living from their land, hammered by droughts one year and flooding the next.

They are climate refugees, and we'll be seeing them by the millions in a decade or two. We need to have plans in place now for what we will do.

Sadly, as climate change hammers the US as well, I'm pretty sure we'll decide to shut our border no matter what party controls our government. In 10-20 yr we'll have American climate refugees fleeing flooding, drought, hurricanes and wildfires inside our own borders.

here in floriduh there is a large influx of citizens from other states that have been displaced due to fires/floods/and one natural disaster after another.
