sit at an empty desk, all day. In a secure location, so they have to pass through security every day on their way in and out, surrender cell phone and any other personal items. Sit, 8 hours a day doing nothing with only the legally required lunch and bathroom breaks. See how long they last.

Worse would be to be assigned to do nothing. Nothing to engage with, no one to talk to. An empty desk, alone in a featureless room, with nothing but a chair and a camera to make sure you're not sleeping on the job.
