Biden attends first church service as president in DC, stops at local bagel shop

President Biden attended his first church service as president on Sunday in Washington, D.C.

Biden attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church in the Georgetown neighborhood of the nation’s capital on Sunday alongside several family members. He has worshiped at the church over the years and said Sunday's service was "lovely."

After the service, the president’s motorcade stopped at the popular Washington, D.C., deli Call Your Mother in Georgetown. Biden was joined by his son, Hunter Biden, and granddaughters Finnegan Biden and Maisy Biden, according to a White House press pool report.

The deli called the president’s visit a “GREAT Sunday Surprise” on Twitter and shared that it is “thrilled to have an admin again who will love all that DC has to offer,” appearing to jab former President Trump, who rarely, if ever, patronized local Washington, D.C., restaurants.

We now have a normal President who gets a round of cheers from the crowd.

It feels so good and I look forward to America improving each and everyday.

Very thankful the United States of America has defeated fascism twice. Hitler and the other pig fucker.

The people who should be under a rock are retreating and the bot army of Putin has folded up shop. Lost of rats inside still.

We have structural reforms needed in our executive branch. I hope Joe's biggest legacy will be ending the imperial presidency. No one is above the law and burn that DOJ memo now.

For Biden. His spirituality extends beyond Catholicism, but church gives him a time to reconnect with spirit. I was worried that he's been so busy, he couldn't have found soul time. I'm so happy to know he made it to a service!

I know it is difficult to do that as President but is important and it also sends an important message. Most Presidents do not practice their faith properly while they are in office and that is sad. I am Episcopalian I miss being able to participate in the Eucharist several times a week.

Perhaps a Priest could visit regularly. During Covid I setup an alter at home, pick up the sacrament from my car, and worship virtually. I imagine the RCC has online Mass and Daily Offices. There are options and I hope he finds a way to do it.

I think a presidential motorcade involves about 12 cars.
Lots of secret service, staff, and of course reporters..

Reporters go everywhere the president goes,
just in case.
