WASHINGTON — A man who filmed himself inside the U.S. Capitol participating in the insurrection on Jan. 6 and then posted his videos to social media was arrested Thursday in Florida. Bradley Weeks, of Baker County Florida, was identified by five separate FBI informants.

According to court documents, in a now-deleted video, Weeks showed panoramic views of crowds on the Capitol lawn, shot from what appears to be the upper west terrace of the Capitol. He then turns the camera on himself and delivers a speech, shouting "this is where tyranny will fall."

"We’ve gotten through, and we are going to take back the Capitol," Weeks said to the camera. "We’re taking back our country! This is our 1776!"

Weeks was interviewed by his hometown paper, the Baker County Press, where he said he had "inhaled some tear gas after scaling a wall outside the Capitol Building before going inside but was otherwise alright."

There was no end game. Trump could not take over, even if they killed some Reps. How would they know for sure if they were D or R?
Of course taking over was never the goal. The goal was just the riot. They were worked up and needed to do something.

5. Every one of those arrested and convicted for the Capitol Siege that day should be required,

as part of their sentencing, to take the classes and pass the test that immigrants to the US must take to become citizens.
I bet these idiots couldn't even name the 13 original colonies if their lives depended on it. They're as ignorant of government as their reality show leader.

7. I'm thinking (maybe in addition to your ideas)...

Something like a “truth and reconciliation” video, a public “confession” if you will:

For those only suspected of lesser crimes (NOT the ringleaders, but those ambling around looking lost like “well, we got in...now what?) a full confession on video, detailing exactly what you did, why you did it, why you now understand you were wrong, why you regret what you did, etc etc etc.

These are to be aired on national tv in 1 hour increments, prime time on Faux network (in return for keeping their broadcast license).

In return, any sentence would not be jail time, but stuff like community service in hospitals, senior centers, etc where volunteers are needed because of Covid-19.

9. I love your ideas.

A sensitivity training course could also be helpful before beginning community service. If the video statements are recorded following the Civics course, sensitivity training and some real time experience volunteering it could bring about some real change to the inner person while benefiting communities. This would be evident on the videos and hopefully result in a lot of good.

These folks may be beyond help, but sometimes working in such environments can made an impression. If the jails are full, this is a good solution for the lesser crimes. Much better than just letting them walk away.

6. It is what happens when you get you education in history from hate radio.

Everybody is a historian and a Constitutional Scholar. They apparently really believed that they could bring the government down by their seditious activities, then they thought that they would be Patriotic Heroes. Their Fuhrer would present them with medals and pardons, and statues would be made of their historic stand. Why else would you videotape yourself committing felonies and then release it to the world?

How confused they must be today. Trump gone, Biden in the White house, Impeachment trial coming, no pardons and, friends turning you in, people rejoicing when you are arrested and jailed. If they were introspective they would be asking "Where did it, where did I, go wrong?" "This is not really happening to me."
