New York Times: The 10 House Republicans who voted for impeachment are already facing a fleet of primary challengers, censures and other rebukes from their hometown Republican Party organizations, an indication that the battle over Mr. Trump will play a defining role in shaping the direction of the party during the next two years.

(118,659 posts)if they can stop him and his authoritarianism they are accomplishing something in General Elections. They may be equal in size or smaller in size than the Trump Republican Party. Trump will hang and join with anyone. People like Mitt Romney will not.

(22,129 posts)thrown into the dust bin of history and wiped out as a valid political party forevermore. Mainly for several reasons...they aided and abetted a traitor, they ignored laws put in place such as the Emoluments Clause because they pick and chose what laws they want to follow. If anything, they should rename themselves the 1%ers, after all, that really is who they are representing, heaven forbid any of us 'normal' people being represented.

(118,659 posts)they will call themselves the little guy party. That is how populism works. They make people feel like kings in their own lives even if the wife has left them and they don't have a good job because they must be kept angry at the elites.... in the case of Trumpism, the educated elites.
