Other than some satisfaction for those who suffered the last four years, Senate trial is not going to hurt trump even if convicted.

Saying any president found guilty of felonious crimes relating to his office will lose all benefits related to that office.

That's what I was taught in high school. An impeached President who gets convicted by the Senate goes to prison.

If that's NOT true, at least we still have the New York and Georgia AGs waiting in the wings. That fucker needs to live out his few remaining years in prison.

The Constitution is clear:Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United Statess; but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

In other words, impeachment and conviction doesn't result in someone being found guilty of a criminal offense. That would require a separate indictment, trial , judgment and punishment.
