From what it looks like in maryland

I am dead last on the list to get a covid shot.

I am 55 have 3 risk factors.

If I get covid I will probably die.

They seem to be unaware risk factors can make a person vulnerable too.

But we have to wait until general population gets it and I don't know how I am going to even get to the place to get the vaccination. My counselor can't take me.

I wish that people with risk factors are considered vulnerable too because we are.

I'm tired of the rationing games. The vaccines need to be made in huge amounts and be put in arms as fast as possible. This appointment bullshit just makes me anxious.

My state does not think people with risk factors like diabeties or mental illness or high blood pressure obesity ,lung or heart problems or cancer or any number of chronic conditions are a vulnerable population apparently.

Yes the elderly and first responders need it now..

But the focus in later rounds that excludes certain kinds of vulnerable populations by pushing them into general population isnt right.
This pisses me off.

Young healthy people should not be getting a vaccine before the high risk and elderly unless they are hcw.

2. The way diabetics get

Blamed for having diabeties because of bigoted ignorant
healthy people who want to blame the victim for being vulnerable pisses me right off. They have no idea they could develop diabeties in later life. Skinny people can develop diabeties too.

I've lost most the weight I try to keep my bsl in the 90's I manage the hell out of it. But would covid be worse regardless of how well I manage my diabeties? I dunno.

Apparently I am phase 2,next to the last people to get vaccinated. It sucks.

I am scared I may get sick before I even get the vaccine. And with the nastier variants of covid here now, I think people with risk factors need vaccines sooner. And it should be considered.

Fucking over disabled people sucks.

3. Yes agree with you totally about D etc.

And your state is worse. I think in NY high risk are next to get it. I filled out a form online and it said I could get it when I put teaching in person, I have to try it again without that. I am teaching online again. I have type 1 D acquired later in life, and had Covid in April with pneumonia but survived. Any type of D is high risk because your bg can go crazy when sick etc. There is more I want to say but I am too upset at the moment, maybe later. I hope you can stay at home and figure out a way to get the vaccine sooner. Another problem is there are such limited vaccine supplies.

The rich don't deserve what they have. They are no better than anyone else. Fuck them. They need to have it all taken away because they won't stop being pigs and exploiting everyone else. I dispise rich people..

5. Yes it is a very unfair system

We need a system that takes care of everyone and does not charge so much for everything and of course does not exploit the sick and treats people equally. If any other admin had designed a decent plan it would be more fair. Lets see what they come up with now, fingers crossed.

12. That is what it should have been: hcw first, everyone elderly next, high risk next and then

everyone else. With Elderly and or high risk being the second group. Please be careful, whatever you do keep your bg in range, don't go to an er because you can easily contract it there in spite of any precautions which may be taken and since more than a few hcw have refused the vaccine they are endangering all of the patients they treat.

9. Where are young healthy people getting it before high risk elderly?

Other than some essential workers?

10. you just said where

Essential workers all over the country, who are young and healthy, for those that are.No one young and healthy should be getting a vaccine ahead of a high risk person or any elderly and or high risk person. That is wrong, unless they are a verified health care worker.

The whole vaccination process is a joke and is totally ****** up. HCW and others who refused it, their vaccines are being THROWN AWAY. HCW who refuse a vaccine should be fired asap, they are endangering people's lives. People are using hcw and essential worker ids given to them by the actual hcw etc. to use to get a vaccine, probably for family members and friends. There is lots of cheating going on.

should not get it before an elderly person who is able to isolate?

Sorry, no.

And yes, it is badly run. Biden has been in office a week. Give him a minute.

14. A hospital admin may be in contact with covid pos people who are infectious

Please read what I said before replying: hcw first then the elderly and high risk.

But if they are not in contact and they are not elderly and or high risk, sorry no.

People who are at highest risk for mortality get it first.

including being on chemo. The way I see it, it would be an impossible bureaucratic nightmare to deal with co-morbidities when this was so disorganized that frint-line workers are lucky to be getting it in a timely way. My oncology nurse just got hers!

The need is great, the supply sketchy, and I have accepted I need to be patient. I remain quarantined because it’s all I can do and problems inherent in my isolation are significant.

I get it, but hang tight.

11. I'm scheduled in New Hampshire

I'm 67 and have several co-morbidities. My first injection is February 26. But my brother is 71 and has diabetes already accepted as being caused by exposure to agent orange in Vietnam and he is not yet scheduled nor is his 73 year old wife with a shitload of co-morbidities...We both filed the first day of opportunity and I was contacted and scheduled but they were not. I have gout and a script for colchicine which has been found to reduce risks by about 40% once you test positive. I just ordered a 3 month supply-that's 90 tablets-proper regimen is 2 tablets (0.6 MG) then 1 tablet for 13 days. My script is PRN (as required). If any friends or family test positive guess what's gonna happen? Talk to gouty friends if you have them...https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04527562

That's OK I guess. Get all the kinks worked out. You never buy a 1st Gen device so I can wait. Working from home since March 2020 and haven't had outside contact with anyone except a nod to the delivery folks. Damn.
