Unfortunately, Republicans have been able to commit treason without any repercussions for 60 some odd years.
https://sierravoices.com/2020/08/19/the-past-5-gop-presidents-have-used-fraud-and-treason-to-steer-themselves-to-electoral-victory/
The dem's are just too weak, don't make the right arguments, and generally drop the ball every time.
We need someone like "The Rock" to run for office.
Hard to negotiate with dishonest Republicans that dismiss reality.
I went to the DC metro police web page the evening of the 6th, or the day after, and found pages of supposedly 734 arrested individuals from the coup. Never a word about it in the news. Checked a few days later, and all was gone. There are a lot of dishonest bigots in law enforcement and they can't be trusted to enforce the law equally. Just like they let that punk kid walk away with his assault riffle and go home from Wisconsin after committing two murders.
I have no faith that America will ever get better. It has only gone down hill my entire life of 66 years. A little improvement here and there, but it's one step forward, 5 steps backward. With nearly half the population conservative, there is no hope of improvement.

It's late, and the article looks really interesting, want to read it all.

That's a lot of arrests, you know. Hadn't heard they had that many. What a shame they aren't going to treat the situation with the extreme seriousness it should require.

Be sure to stay safe, also. Thank you.

On edit, just noticed that was your first post, had to come back to say "Welcome to D.U.," bth73. This place has some tremendous Democrats, and it's a great place to come for better information and discussion company!

What are you talking about?

We just took the white house, the senate, and we have the house.

We did it despite attempted overthrow, murder and threats.

And we will keep doing it.

Stick around, you will see that the "weak" ones are the unprincipled, self serving ass kissers who enabled and still support Trump.

You will see how WEAK they are as they begin to be prosecuted and flip on the rest of the pack of vermin.

That's something a human being doesn't take lightly, nor should he/she be expected to accept it.

Hoping like crazy their sky is going to fall on them soon! Who knew we had so many monsters in this country?

There is no way that people at the mob riot didn't see that being erected or brought in and have pictures or information on who did this.

Don’t know about the other one (I believe there were two).

I suspect they’re mainly symbolic, but wouldn’t want to take my chances with ‘em, that’s for sure.

Again, I wouldn’t want to test it. Just doesn’t look sturdy at the top.

Perhaps it is. It’s damn creepy though. I guess the mob could hold the sides up long enough to deal death though.

... for racist, anti-democracy assholes, but still a prop.

I don’t doubt that some of the terrorists had wet dreams about hanging someone, but this appears to have been mostly symbolic. Likely erected by Tea Bagger types for the shits and giggles.

I’m more worried about the guys who looked and acted like trained militia. They had genuine tools and the intent to do real acts of terror.

are not taking what happened seriously enough.

The fire for accountability and justice needs to be kept burning white hot. Qpublicans are doing whatever they can to douse the flames, and we can't let them do this.

28. How did this structure get built and erected freely?
Tue Jan 26, 2021, 09:42 AM

This structure does not seem to me to have been built with scraps of wood found on the grounds of the Capitol.

It looks to me, this might have been partly built in advance. Which means all of the pieces, tools and hardware had to be carried by more than one individual. Which means it all had to be schlepped via large enough vehicle, which had to be parked somewhere close enough to the ground where this was erected.

Whenever I participate in a demonstration, including the Women's March, signage could not be attached to anything past a few inches, I think 12 or 14 inches. Otherwise it would be confiscated by the police.

I also find it hard to believe there wasn't CCTV on the grounds surrounding the building considering the laws put in place following 911.
