The danger is not that Trump will run again in 2024.

It is that he will continue to corrupt the political system with his lies and propaganda if left unattended.

By 2024, it will not matter if he runs or not, the system will have been too corrupted to recover from the damage. Both Parties will be irrelevant. Republicans will not only be irrelevant, they will be discredited.

But it will not matter.

This is the crossroads for America. We might live or die by our actions in the next few weeks. To stand behind and defend a lie is deadly for the soul of our nation.

1. I think that is an unrealistic forecast.

In truth, Trump's influence will dwindle steadily over time. Under Joe Biden's leadership, along with Senate leadership by Chuck Schumer, things will begin to return more to a normal course of action, and Trump's measures will steadily be undone.

Donald Trump no longer has the bully pulpit. That belongs to Joe Biden now. The news media will not cover Trump at anything like the level it did while he was in office. Media coverage of Trump will diminish quickly over time.

This country is resilient and responds well to sane leadership. While there will be some who continue to try to undermine things, they will be less and less successful over time during the Biden administration.

The COVID-19 pandemic will diminish as well in the next few months.

They have not shown the ability to rise above the lies up to this point.

I do believe it will be up to the citizens of this country to decide what kind of country they want. I cannot believe they, on the whole, would agree with the lies of Trumpism.

But, also, I do not believe it will happen without a battle. It will not diminish quickly. This will go on for some time, in my opinion.

I hope you are right about the pandemic. ( I think our country should invest in the N-95 masks and give them to every citizen in the country)

2. There used to be two sides. Democrats and Republicans.

Now it is those who accept reality and those who live in a fantasy land of disinformation and propaganda.

You can't debate policy with someone who doesn't accept facts.

The fact deniers must be purged from the system and not allowed a voice.

They cannot be given aid or comfort or a chance to infect the body politic any more.

I refuse to engage with anyone who doesn't believe in reality.

5. trump's influence will wane. By 2024 -- assuming he's still alive -- he won't win the primary.

We survived 4 years of trump, and will survive whatever is next.

In any event, trump loses little in a impeachment trial, even if he is convicted. We won't get much, if any. retribution in an impeachment trial of a loser who is already out of office.

6. Look at the people he's influenced though - like Greene, Boebert and Howley.

They will be around for a long time to come, whether we like it or not. Plus Q Anon, the Proud Boys, and the Oath Keepers will run their people for office at some point. This isn't just about squashing Trump, it's about squashing his legacy too. If we want these scumbags out of office, it's time to make the MAGA brand as toxic as Germany made the Nazi brand.

You can spend 200 years building up an empire and it only takes one jackass with a wrecking ball to knock it all down.

7. An impeachment trial at this point isn't going to help in that respect. At the same time a rube

District elected Marjorie Greene, the state of Georgia elected two Democrats for Senate. That's how we take these racists out.
