Claudia Conway has accused her mother, former senior advisor to Donald Trump, Kellyanne Conway, of posting a topless photo of the 16-year-old to her Twitter account on Monday evening.

Screenshots that captured the photo before it was deleted appear to show Kellyanne Conway’s account posting it late Monday evening using Twitter’s ephemeral messaging feature Fleets, the company’s version of Instagram Stories.

Censored versions of the image, which shows a picture of a phone displaying the image of the 16-year-old in what appears to be a bathroom, are being shared on social media. The picture on the phone that was photographed appears to be dated Jan. 4.

It was sad because Kellyanne was spinning with CPS the way she does on tv. The person from CPS was telling Kellyanne to take away Claudia's phone while Claudia was yelling that she paid for her own phone and no one was taking it away. I only got pulled into this drama by my grandson because he put TicToc on my phone so I would follow his posts - and he is only 9.

If you're not familiar with a phone, hitting a share button isn't a hard mistake to make. And if the mom is agitated and rifling through the teen's phone, the photo archive and the social media apps are the ones she'd go to first for clues about what her angry teen was up to. As a GenJones myself, I find the accidental upload theory the most plausible. If it was a hack, there'd probably be a LOT more hostile activity on the account.

It looks like Dad, the dysfunctional family peacekeeper, had had a long talk with her. She wasn't blinking "torture" a la Vietnam War POWs. She was calmed & sincere, but clearly dealing with something heavy. Frankly, trying to do PR to throw water on a grease fire is what the kid's parents do for a living. That's gonna rub off on a kid. As the single dad of a former teenager, I can tell you the way kids fight with their folks is usually exactly in the way they've seen their parents behave under duress in the past.

This is what Covid is doing to us: murders are up in America. We're all trapped at home with family and that poor kid has a battier than normal fam to be boxed up with. Nerves are bound to get frayed and snap.

You can project anything you want onto there. I work with teens all day. This is how the smart ones would do this, especially one with an established social media profile. I can tell you there's a high correlation between living in a dysfunctional household and a kid being talented at putting a dignified face to hide their stress.

I see an abuse victim being forced by her abusers to recant (true) accusations. This is something abusers will always do if they have the power. Keeping "the peace" at the expense of the terrible truth is key in severely dysfunctional families.

I think what Claudia desperately needs is a safe place far away from her parents, where they can't get to her. Then she can get the help she needs, but not until then.

Her mother seems to be a rage-oholic, someone addicted to the intense mood chemicals the body produces when agitated. Lord knows she's had to spend a lot of time bottling up her feelings at work for the past five years. That's easily discharged for addicted rage-oholics on children.

George seems like the passive-aggressive type (seriously, think about what he's doing on the Lincoln Project). So he dodges Kellyanne's barbs at home (especially a home that has to have a thinly veiled don't-talk-about-work truce) and that leaves Claudia as target #1. Add teenage rebellion (age 12-16, god help 'em all) and a particularly bright and independent minded kid suffering from the chaos... That's a blow up waiting to happen.

it's not unusual for the abusive parent or parents to pick just one as the main target of all wrongs. The other siblings may be quietly getting along under the radar. Or not, since watching a sibling under attack can be almost as upsetting as being the child in the crosshairs. There's no way to be sure, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Claudia is target numero uno because she commits the cardinal sin of standing up for herself.

Claudia and Kellyanne seem to both have a love-hate relationship with each other. Claudia has posted of being diagnosed with multiple personality disorders and of trying to kill herself. She posted that George checked out and left the family a month ago. Growing up with Kellyanne as a mother must have been a horror story. Claudia says on TicToc that she has hundreds of videos of her mother abusing her that she will release when she is an adult. One minute she hates her mom, people then post death threats to Kellyanne, then Claudia says she really loves her mom and then the whole circle happens every few weeks. Reminds me of the book "I Hate You, Don't Leave Me" - Understanding Borderline Personality Disorder. There are 3 other kids in the family. Claudia has a twin brother and two younger sisters.

(also my husband's---who is the child of two alcoholics, one functional and one not so much) that Kellyanne has an addiction of some kind, be it alcohol, pills, whatever, in addition to (most likely) having a narcissistic personality. I was married to an alcoholic so I'm not that bad at spotting the signs either. It's also pretty obvious that she's a smoker...look at her skin, for 55 it's awful. I thought she was much older. Addiction makes the whole family sick. George may be doing the best he can, and I think he is, but if he doesn't get some help for himself, things will go down the tank even quicker. Speaking as one who has been there and done that.
