....it affects only about 10% of the people who take it. Luckily I wasn't one of them, but there are alternatives (I guess you're taking one)

I also asked if it was expensive. His exact response, "It's dirt cheap!"

It's a classification of medication called an Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitor. Dry cough is one of the potential side effects. Patients who develop the cough can get switched to a similar class of medication called an Angiotensin Receptor Blocker. It rarely causes a cough, but it's more expensive than an ACEI, so most insurance companies won't cover it unless the patient has a documented history of lisinopril treatment first.
