WH expected to tell governors they will get more coronavirus vaccine doses starting next week

Federal allocations of coronavirus vaccine doses to states and other jurisdictions are expected to increase by about 16 percent next week, easing shortages that have intensified nationwide without fully alleviating supply problems.

Jeff Zients, coordinator of the White House’s coronavirus response, is expected to inform governors of the increase on a call Tuesday afternoon, according to two people familiar with the situation who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it.

The weekly allocation is forecast to go from about 8.6 million doses to about 10 million doses. The vaccine is distributed on a population basis among 64 jurisdictions, including 50 states, eight territories and six major cities.

Zients is expected to stipulate the increased supply will come from releasing more doses of Moderna’s vaccine — one of two authorized for emergency use in the United States. The other available product, also a two-dose regimen, was developed by Pfizer and German company BioNTech.

I had it and it was an extremely weak cold, was for most of my coworkers but one it almost killed. My wife is a cancer patient and was really sick, never hospitalized but I had to take her to ER for a steroid shot to relieve the inflammation in her lungs.

For 2 weeks I took a heavy viral load from her while caring for her, didn't where a mask or sanitize the house, just normal cleaning. My natural immunity still protected me 8 months later.

My wife just took her 2nd vaccination, she is a Paramedic and was required and has a horrible immune system because of cancer. I think all off us regardless of your profession should be dead last to get the vaccination if you have already had COVID and are healthy!

Thus would help the most vulnerable get vaccinated much faster, I don't care if I catch COVID again because it gave me the sniffles but it could kill my wife!!
