As part of the Clinton Victory Counsel program, I was one of the volunteer lawyers who reviewed 6000+ lawsuits involving trump. trump does not pay his bills and has stiffed lawyers over the years. It is no surprise that many law firms are refusing to represent trump

(11,684 posts)That does not bode well for any legal recourse on Trump.
Apparently NO ONE EVER WILL GET HIM TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. IS that right? Is the Universe so warped by Mr. Tee's weight that he even sucks the light of justice into his black hole of evil. How is this possible. Somebody, somewhere, better make the light of justice shine on this SOB and have the weight of law crush him.

(11,740 posts)Trump was forced to pay a 25 million dollar settlement because the government was the prosecution. If you don't pay out of your pocket, they can go after your wages. Getting relief for civil suits between individuals is a little trickier.
Also, Trump loves to keep people tied up in court so long that they end up paying more in legal fees than they would be getting from the payments they lost. They end up eating the loss.
I think Trump will ultimately end up getting "justice" from the State Courts going after him.

(11,684 posts)I guess I want him imprisoned. But hated, indebted, and homeless would be nice.

(11,740 posts)What I want to happen to him is quite graphic and makes me question my morality, but then sometimes we need to be aware of our "darker side"
There needs to be accountability, otherwise this situation will continue and we will have another, more capable fascist trying to assume control of the USA in the near future.

(46,130 posts)2. Trump's mentor, attorney Roy Cohn, didn't expect his clients to pay him. Not that he worked for free. Cohn would represent on the understanding of collecting a marker. For those of you not familiar with gambling, when you don't have the money, you put up a "marker" which is a pledge for credit. Cohn represents you and later on, Cohn will call on you, asking to call in that marker. The marker can represent something more valuable than the money owed. A favor. Maybe you know people on a zoning board. You are expected to make some calls and give Cohn a variance that otherwise would not be available. It's a lot like barter.
Now in Trump's situation, even if he were doing "markers," Trump would have no interest in putting up his end of the marker, therefore no return favor. And attorneys would be stiffed. Michael Cohen may or may not have been paid. I'm guessing he liked being connected with the power or the illusion of it associated with Donald Trump.
