FDR got four presidential terms for his response to the GOP mess that caused the Great Depression

Biden has a similar circumstance - a massive problem made worse by the GOP.

He has an equal opportunity - except no four terms. His reward will be high approvals and, more importantly, an increasing Democratic majority, reversing the pattern of losing in the off year elections.

100 million vaccinations in 100 days is doable. He is now, in fact, talking about 150 million.

Just now, on live TV at a presser, he just announced a weekly supply increase from 6 million to 8 million doses from increased production.

He is now going to be distributing doses based on population. He is going to give three week look-aheads to supply for each jurisdiction.

This guy is on it!

And that will help us politically.

Go Joe!!!!

There is no other path and nice talk time is over. Shove this stuff down McConnell's and McCarthy's throats and let them gag on it. When they realize that their only win is when they can spin "their losses" as wins for the American people and take some credit for it as supporting it. Their choice will be a little glory that may keep them somewhat relevant or slow extinction as the national demographic trends over take them.

I might be short sighted but that supersedes political gains.

...if we don't have the political power, assuming Dem policy will be more life, democracy and nation affirming, we can't protect life and liberty and the nation's welfare. All good intentions and great ideals are just affirmational talk and campaign rhetoric if we don't actually have significant control of the levers of governmental power.

This is the 3rd time the Republicans have left the country looking like a trainwreck in my adult lifetime. And 2008 was just a hypier version of 1992, just like the 2010 elections were a repeat of 1994. They'll slash and burn and spread misinformation and water down all of Biden's reforms and then scream corruption, debt (!), guns, God, and abortion nonstop from March to November next year. And it'll probably work.

This is who our country is now. Rupert Murdoch won.

under pressure to act or not be reelected in his first two years. I don't care for comparisons to FDR because things are so different now.
