Two questions...

Is it possible for the supreme court to confirm one way or another that its constitutional to impeach an ex president, remembering that impeachment proceedings commenced in the House of Reps while Trump was still president?

If the senate does not convict him, is it possible for a class-action civil law suit to take place against him, or would that be a case of double jeopardy?

for the family of the slain police officer to take out a civil lawsuit against Trump. I'm sure there wouldn't be any shortage of donations to help with the legal fees.
