serve out his term? Do they have a special election, or does the Republican Governor appoint someone?

4. both. they have to run an election within 6 months. meanwhile the republican governor appoints

someone. However, that governor has previously said he would uphold the Vermont tradition of appointing a member of the same party as the one they replace. So in this case, a democrat. Of course thats assuming he does not succumb to pressure from the gop to do otherwise... Hopefully Leahy will recover and we will not need to test this.

The Vermont governor will do what McConnell and trump tell him to do. Republicans only exist to sow hate and misery. The last 4 years has made that crystal clear.
