After not being elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, he writes this letter.

"I will not participate in the final year of voting. I am requesting to be removed from the ballot. I’ll defer to the veterans committee and men whose opinions actually matter and who are in a position to actually judge a player. I don’t think I’m a hall of famer as I’ve often stated but if former players think I am then I’ll accept that with honor."

Hes just not.

When you compare him to guys like Maddux, Randy Johnson, or Pedro....those guys were clearly more dominant. Glavine wasn't, but he as a 10+ game winner every season after his debut year. Smith doesn't have the numbers, until you realize he has 150 saves on top of his years as a starter. Most guys can't make that switch.


There is one guy in thatm compares to Schilling and he shouldn't be in either. Mike Mussina.
