WASHINGTON -- The Department of Homeland Security issued a national terrorism bulletin Wednesday warning of the potential for lingering violence from people motivated by anti-government sentiment after President Joe Biden's election, suggesting the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol may embolden extremists and set the stage for additional attacks.

The department did not cite a specific threat, but pointed to "a heightened threat environment across the United States" that it believes "will persist" since Biden took office on Jan. 20.

It would be lower if our government had been more aggressive about pursuing them decades ago.

I believe we have the technical capability to stop them in their tracks. However, we do not have the legal capability. (Surveillance, arrests etc because they are US citizens)

The threat is only greater now because Trump has emboldened them and Fox/OAN/Russian propaganda has radicalized them.

They stand absolutely zero chance of actually toppling the US government no matter how much shit they have stockpiled in their bunkers, I guarantee the US government has more. Look how fast they backed down when they faced the slightest real opposition from the National Guard.

All we have to do to defeat them is:

1. Stop pointing cameras at them and anyone else who is a proven serial liar. Deplatform people who advocate violence and sedition.
2. Actually pursue consequences for violent threats and acts.
3. Zero tolerance for elected officials who condone fascism.
4. Invest in real education in civics and history for kids and wait for the old ones to die. Get rid of homeschooling and charter schools.
5. Keep role-modelling effective and sane governance. Take the time to talk up what the government is doing to solve problems and help people.
