Do you think Republican voters are as stupid as their Congresspeople and Senators think they are?

I don't.

I think many of them saw what happened at our Capitol and were as shocked as you and I. They are not all part of the Trump cult, in my opinion.

Elected Republicans are making a blunder of massive proportion if they think they can pull the wool over all their voters' eyes. Their voters may remain Republicans but they will not vote for "these" Republicans.

They are not stupid. They are as American as you and I. They love their country and they are shocked at what they see. I truly believe that.

Although there are efforts to re-educate them by FOX News and propaganda outlets and Trump stooges, it will not succeed.

If we make it to 2022, we will see an overhaul of the House and Senate unlike any we have ever seen, in my opinion.

who have gone along with Trumpian policies. This applies to voters and elected officials. They have exhibited cult like behavior and continue to put party over country.

It makes me wonder how much dirt Trump, Bannon and Stone have on members of Congress to keep them in line.

The Republican cult, perhaps? But not the Trump cult of personality.

I think they voted for Republicans more than they voted for Trump.

They could lose a large number of those voters if they continue to cling to the Trump Party, in my opinion.

Decades, of right wing brain washing of the evil liberal boogyman has left them completely distance from reality, reason and decency.

Many Rs are plenty "smart" but even smart people are not immune to the effects of relentless gaslighting.

It is 100% predicable at this this point.

Right wing media/elected officials spew some crazy shit to keep them cranked up, they swallow it whole, right wing elected officials use the excuse that their zombie base will eat them alive if they don't do the next horrible thing, rinse and repeat.

They know it for a fact.

All Republicans watch Fox News and listen to Rush Limbaugh, and believe both as set in stone truth. That is the epitome of stupid.

What good has the Republican party done for the US, and the people of the US, the environment of the planet? Nothing. Nada. Nichts. Zero. Zilch. Actually less than zero. They are not constructive, they are destructive.

And yet the brainwashed disciples of Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and Donald Trump continue to vote for their own demise by the tens of millions. That's as f**king stupid and lacking in common sense as it gets.

Being American doesn't mean that they aren't stupid. Not being part of the Trump cult doesn't mean they aren't stupid, just less stupid than Trump worshipers. If they love their country so much, why did the overwhelming majority of them say absolutely nothing for 4 years while Trump tried to destroy the government, democracy, and the planet on his indisputable 4 year quest to establish himself as dictator of the US?

Like, what will they say? "Duh, we didn't know!" Now that's just plain flat out stupid.

Almost every Republican is a Nazi waiting to happen. The ones that aren't are as rare as Painite.

and the supercharged effect of global platforms like twitter and more importantly facebook, and the emergence of state actors engaging in disinformation campaigns has changed everything.

Approximately 74 million voters, minus some unknown fraction, exist in a completely different reality from you and me. It isn't a matter of intelligence, although being uneducated in critical thinking helps. So what is that fraction, the part of the 74 million that was shocked enough by Jan6 to pop out of the bubble? 10%? 30%? all good guesses. Very likely much less than 50%.

As the events of Jan 6 get normalized, a process already well under way, the fraction 'out of the bubble' will shrink.

They are all in on the gambit. They don't believe that the election was stolen because they know that Trump spent four years playing to his base and pissing off any person of color or with an education... that's what they like about him. They are gaslighting just like their congresspeople who represent them. They have all decided thats better than dealing with the loss of white privilege and living in a truly multicultural society. They are even willing to overlook ransacking the capitol and killing a couple cops as long as its angry white people doing it in support of their cause.
