I get it. The GOP is in chaos and has been moving more and more to right wing crazy town each decade, but
UNTIL the GOP truly implodes to the point where they are not holding nearly the same amount of members of the House and 50 Senate seats, please don't say they are dead.
They still control the majority of states.
The truth is the core of the GOP since Nixon has been white nationalists. Each decade they took more influence away from old school Republicanism...
Yes, trump did hurt the party badly, but again, the true trends of its state will be determined in the next elections.

(14,559 posts)Is the U.S. really this racist? Yeah, it seems so. Not all Republicans are racist but all racists are Republicans.

(15,835 posts)4,000 elections throughout the country with a republican, Democratic supporter and a patriot would be the best thing to ever happen to the Democratic Party. Look at Georgia during thecsenate general. Two republicans which resulted in a run off which we won. Without the two, history could have been different.

(25,472 posts)The first was a publicity stunt from some guy in Georgia. It's going nowhere. (It's the second, actually. There's already a Patriot Party registered in the US from more than a year ago.)
The second was a publicity stunt from some guy in San Antonio, rumored locally to be related to the New Braunfels clowns who harassed a Biden-affiliated bus before the election. It's going nowhere, either.
Both lied and claimed that they were linked to the Trump organization. They're not. It's just a couple of opportunistic bozos looking for attention.
Neither is in any position to challenge the GOP. Obviously, splitting the vote would help, but it's wishful thinking at this point. The GOP will try to squash any attempts to do so and would probably succeed.
