Line cooks are at the highest risk of dying from COVID, says UCSF study

According to a new UCSF study, food and agricultural workers are at the highest risk of death from COVID-19 among working age Californians. The study, which analyzed deaths of essential workers between ages 18 to 65, found line cooks to be at the highest risk of all, more so than packaging machine operators, construction laborers and even nurses.

There’s almost no way to distance given the layout of restaurant kitchens.

to seek treatment when it can be too late.

And these jobs are not in health care so they probably don't have as direct safety standards as those in health care.

And then all the other issues such as not so easily being able to get your own transportation. Living with others who probably also work outside the home in low wage jobs since they can't afford to have someone not work.

Long term care facilities, restaurants & bars were the 3 greatest causes of spread here in Illinois.
They were substantially in excess of medical facilities.
I actually did expect to see LTC workers #1, but I'm not shocked at this.

It was the job of Senate Majority Leader in 2020.

McConnell had his head so far up Trump's ass that it was a miracle that he didn't catch Covid before Trump did.
