No payment until after the trial, and only if I win will I pay.🙄

Or perhaps he wanted them to donate their services.

Or, as you suggested, the check bounced. But I doubt he ever wrote them a check. Or if he did, it was only a portion of what he'd agree to pay.

I'm suspecting that trump* might not be the easiest and most cooperative of clients.

He doesn't pay his lawyers, he doesn't follow their instructuions, he puts them in positions where they have to lie to the court or do something illegal, he continues to break the law and tells them about it, putting them in ethical jeopardy....

And then he trashes them when he needs a scapegoat, leaves their reputation in tatters, and lies 100% of the time to them.

Who would want that assclown as a client?

It's like signing on as an artist's rep and discovering that your client's work consists of smearing his shit on walls. Kind of a heavy lift.

Probably demanded full payment in advance and Trump refused or wouldn't agree to whatever their terms were.

On the other hand, He's probably arranged to defend himself. Won't that be special.

Must-see tv. That would be such a demented performance that it just might be the one thing that could get a few GOPers to vote to convict.

for the excellent publicity the law firm would receive.

And the funds would need to be sent to someplace off-shore.
