SENATE REPUBLICANS CAMPAIGN ARM continues to promote a fundraiser for Sen. Josh Hawleys Fighting for Missouri PAC, even after the hotel that was scheduled to host it backed out because of Hawleys objection to certifying Joe Bidens election victory on Jan. 6. The National Republican Senatorial Committee advertised Hawleys Feb. 12-15 Orlando family-friendly fundraising weekend in its weekly events email, seen by the Journal, and sent to supporters on Wednesday. After being alerted to the promotion, an NRSC spokesman wouldnt confirm or deny the scheduling of the fundraiser, and a Hawley spokeswoman and a consultant listed as the contact for the event didnt respond to requests for comment.
Facing public criticism for hosting the event, Loews Hotels & Co. canceled on Hawley earlier this month and said it wouldnt host Hawleys event at any of its hotels. A customer-service representative at the Loews resort in Orlando said she had no information about the event being moved. Hawleys PAC spent around $100,000 during the 2020 elections, primarily to help fellow GOP senators and Senate candidates. Hawley has blasted companies that have backed away from him in the past month, saying he will not bow to left wing corporate pressure.
Hawley, widely viewed as a possible presidential aspirant, told Business Insider this week that he was not running for president in 2024, and demurred on whether former President Donald Trump should run again or make way for a new GOP standard bearer.

(22,174 posts)taste for power and politics. He was only Missouri's AG for 1 year, before he got talked to into running for Claire M's seat, so the guy hasn't in been in one job, one job barely over 1 year. What's his qualifications? What's his skills (other than running off his mouth and insulting people, trying to double talk on both sides of his mouth)?
Everyone that opposes him in any manner by the way, is 'left wing' (of course). He's lost his main political sponsor, Danforth (who as a democratic supporter myself, Danforth was somewhat reasonable). He's lost his big time corporate sponsor too. A lot of faith based supporters too in MO have withdrawn their support for Hawley too. Anyone interested in running for the Senate seat of Hawley's?
I'm not young enough nor have the energy to run, but I'll donate money to a good Missourian to run...Here's two of them, but I'm open always to a new face...take care and be safe all!
John J. Rizzo, Senate Minority Leader OR Cori Bush, Congresswoman-elect?
