The Boogaloo Bois Have Guns, Criminal Records and Military Training. Now They Want to Overthrow the

Government.

A good read about military and ex-military involvement in an extremist right wing group. I think it's clear this these are the types of folks Trump was referring to when he bragged about having the support of some police and military over his four years in office. These are just a few excerpts from the article.

"In another instance, an ex-Marine gathered at least six men at a wooded property in McLoud, Oklahoma, a small town outside of Oklahoma City, and taught them how to storm a building. In a video posted to YouTube last year, the former Marine, Christopher Ledbetter, shows the group how to enter a house and kill any enemy combatants inside. Filmed with a GoPro camera, the video concludes with Ledbetter, who served in the Marine Corps from 2011 to 2015, blasting a wooden target with a barrage of bullets from a fully automatic AK-47-type carbine.

Ledbetter called his training facility the “kill house,” according to court records.

Traditional infantry tactics wouldn’t be particularly useful during the coming civil war, opined Guerrilla Instructor, arguing that sabotage and assassination would be more helpful for the anti-government insurgents. It was simple, he said: A Boogaloo Boi could just walk up to a government figure or law enforcement officer on the street and “shoot them in the face” before fleeing.

But there was another assassination technique that held special appeal for Guerrilla Instructor. “I believe honestly that drive-bys will be our greatest tool,” he said, sketching out a scenario in which three Boogs would hop in an SUV, spray a target with gunfire, “kill some dudes” and speed off.

The subject came up during a court hearing in Michigan involving Paul Bellar, one of the men arrested on state charges in connection with the plot to kidnap Whitmer. “It’s my understanding Mr. Bellar used his military training to teach combat procedures to members of this terrorist group,” said Magistrate Frederick Bishop, explaining his reluctance to lower Bellar’s bail during the October hearing. Bellar, who has since been released from jail on bond, has pleaded not guilty.

was not for hunting or personal security. They wanted to use them against a real adversary, not that they had a better alternative to American Democracy. They go from playing in the woods to storming the Capitol.

Always buried in their justification for assault weapons was the "defend themselves from a tyrannical government" defense. Of course, they really meant their weapons are to impose a tyrannical government of their choice upon the rest of us.

No mercy on these fuckers. Even if it means preemptive detention. And the FBI and ATF should have detailed info especially on their training camps and members, as well as people on the inside.

I know this is going to come as a disappointment to you, but in America, we don't put people in jail because they might do something.

No congress member can have a semblance of a normal life again out of fear of being assassinated. Are we just going to allow the terrorists to control politics?

These right wingers are abusing our freedoms and rights to the maximum (the right to free speech by using it to spread disinformation comes to mind.) We will lose our rights anyway if the fascists take over and not just that, but many Democrats will be imprisoned or even executed.

"they seem like the sort of people who would do something" is a antithetical to our legal system.

I was going to say "system of justice," but that's not always the case.

Thanks for writing.

And if you are one to trash the FBI over things like Waco, why would you then blame them for not doing the things you didn't think they should do?

You know so much about it, so get Biden to name you head of the FBI.

I think it made them skittish about going after them. I think we’d be in deep doo without the FBI. Didn’t mean to get your dander up, treestar.

On edit: I meant the militia’s responses, not the FBIs

I get too sensitive sometimes. A lot of liberals think Waco was handled badly. It's just to me lunatics like Koresh create a situation and then somehow more blame seems to go to the people trying to resolve it.

I’m not always posting very coherently these days. FBI had no good choices after Koresh involved the women and children. I think they did the best they could.

“Azov has been recruiting, radicalizing, and training American citizens for years,” the letter said. Christopher Wray, the director of the FBI, later confirmed in testimony to the U.S. Senate that American white supremacists are “actually traveling overseas to train.”
