1. The thing to remember regarding criminal defense attorneys.

They aren't necessary endorsing or defending the actions of their clients. Their true client is due process, the Justice System, and the Constitution. They actually protect their clients from the inherent abuses by police and prosecutors.

I've had law clients who were not necessary "innocent," but deserved a fair hearing.

reading news about Vietnam and the Manson trial. Since I don't remember facts about the
Manson trial I just looked it up. When the prosecution finished their presentation the defense rested, figuring that no defense was the best defense.
