Elon Musk and the reddit market manipulators are laughing all the way to the bank.

Just to keep the stock from falling as hard. Being in that boat is still not bad. Paid off the student loans, per se.

If these "reddit money manipulators" actually laughed to the bank, gamestop would already be a penny stock again.

I'm sure they're all happily losing money because that's why people invest in the stock market. For everyone whose losing, someone is gaining, and it ain't the fool who gets in when it's 90 and falling.

I'm winning. Staying. And buying more. Although the conventional wisdom of not doing that is likely wise. I'm sure most of what you say is true, but I'm too dumb to care.

on this Gamestop stuff and it won't be hedge funds.

Gamestop isn't going to be in business all that much longer with platforms going to digital games and away from optical drives more and more.

This is a big obvious bubble.

I imagine the influx of cash this creates will help them execute it a little faster.

Here's some advice, don't listen to Elon Musk, Mark Cuban, or Reddit when you are looking for investment advice.

The only reason I use gamestop is to change out games, and if I'm not on a physical media anymore there's no way to do that and there's no way to buy cheap used games from them.

Half of their store now is tee shirs, those pop toys, and memorabilia. None of which have I ever seen anyone buying from there.

I don't get why I'd go there when I can just buy everything straight from the PlayStation store on the console. Unless Gamestop can get exclusive rights on some big titles, but I'm sure Sony and Microsoft will only allow games on their platforms if they are also available in their stores.

sounds like the entire plan is "fire everybody we can and find something else to sell."

I don't think they are going to be able to remain a national chain welling used copies of Madden '13 and replicas of Shadowmourne.

They'd do better turning their focus to tabletop gaming, but there isn't enough market there to keep a national chain in business.

Hedge funds will try to bet hard again shorting this soon. And they will need to take another 1.5 billion dollars from another hedge fund after they lost big.

Points off highs.

Did any of that money get realized by the company? A cash influx is nice, but without fundamental support for it it won't help.
