(4,613 posts)the judge was waiting to sign-off/rule on her request. Hoping that this makes it a big NOPE!

(7,526 posts)When a plaintiff or defense asks the court for an action, they can give the court a draft of a proposed order. A draft order proposed by the defense was posted by the court, and the media mistook that for a signed order from the judge.
I heard he was getting some blowback, so hopefully thatll be a firm NO.

(7,286 posts)Like since Biden took office, and the convening of the Senate with the new members.
I'm going to have to apply more critical thinking when I click on news thread... it would be great to be able to read what is being posted is reliable information from a generally reliable source. Vigilance!

(108,996 posts)The reporter had seen an order from the judge, but it wasn't signed. It was just the order her attorney had pre-prepared, in case the judge was ready to sign it.

Shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 5 years or, if the offense involves international or domestic terrorism (as defined in section 2331), imprisoned not more than 8 years, or both.
Someone on twitter must be thinking about obstruction of justice...
I'm thinking more like 5 years max because she is charged with Aiding and Abetting since there are no terrorism charges. In the end, unfortunately, I would not be surprised, if she probably ends up with stiff probation and fines, but will have a permanent record and banned from owning firearms.

If it's really meant to be a work-related bonding retreat with her employees and their spouses," she can relocate it to somewhere in her native Texas (if not her own home). As for the possibility of losing what she prepaid, that's between her and the venue she hired.
