(1,789 posts)The impeachment is not "purported" or "alleged" or anything like that, it is a real thing straight out of the Constitution. Since they stipulate that he is a private citizen, the normal penalty for ignoring a subpoena should apply.

(10,162 posts)I believe it is proper to describe a former president like this, e.g., "Barack Obama, the 44th president of the US". So they're trying to give him the dignity of the office while at the same time claiming he's no longer president.
I'm still trying to figure out their last sentence. I thought English fluency was one of the requirements for passing the bar.
